Congress Bites The Dust at Vidhan Sabha Polls

The election results of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Delhi have made it clear that the people of India have lost their patience with the Congress Party. This result, before the general elections, has caused quite a stir. It seems like the Congress Party could not withstand the strong blows from BJP and the NaMo wave. BJP leader Mr Shivraj Chauhan won in Madhya Pradesh with a huge margin. This victory was followed by Dr. Raman Singh winning in a tough battle for Chhattisgarh.  Alongside, Rajasthan rejoiced the huge success of BJP leader Vasundhara Raje, defeating Congress candidate Ashok Gehlot. The biggest surprise in these elections was the first innings of AAP. In surprising news Mr Arvind Kejriwal defeated the Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit with a historic margin.
The popularity of Congress Party has come down drastically because of inflation and corruption. This election was the exhibition of power that NaMo wave holds true. Amidst all these elections, the Delhi results took everyone by a surprise. The results spelled a political revolution, a much awaited change that the public yearned for. Chief Minister Sheila Dixit was very confident of continuing her winning streak. The public on the other hand, was not and therefore, the result! Congress could not even gain a respectable number on their score card.

The electoral battle most notable after Delhi was Chhattisgarh. Dr. Raman Singh won by a huge margin making his governance a hat-trick. Rajasthan, where Congress was confident of establishing government, came with disastrous numbers this election.  It is obvious that the Vidhan Sabha election results have set the danger alarms for Congress. It remains to be seen how serious AAP is about governance having emerged victorious in the recent elections.
