Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated Kiran Multi-Super Speciality Hospital and Research Centre in Surat, Gujarat. PM Modi reached Surat on Sunday and has received a grand welcome for his visit to the state where he served as CM from 2001 to 2014.
Kiran Multi-Super Specialty Hospital has been built by a private trust in Surat. PM Modi first inaugurated the hospital and addressed the gathering. In his address, he said that while the health surveys have made efforts in reinstating the importance of hygiene, none has paid much attention to preventive healthcare measures. The government’s 'Swachh Bharat' mission is a part of promoting preventive healthcare habits in India, he added. PM Modi said he was proud that his Surat has adopted the habit of cleanliness in such a way that it can be an example to other cities. "Labour is more valuable than money. I had said that I will also inaugurate the places where I lay foundation stones, because I want to see work completed. This hospital (Kiran Multispeciality Hospital) is built on a foundation of hard work and family value. After Vajpayee ji, we brought a healthcare policy in India after 15 years," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister reached Surat for a two-day visit that began yesterday. After the hospital inauguration, PM Modi inaugurated a diamond manufacturing/polishing unit of Hari Krishna Export in Ichhapur.
