PM Modi Pays Tribute to Ambedkar; to Visit Nagpur on Ambedkar Jayanti

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Dalit icon Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary. PM Modi tweeted, “We are unwavering in our efforts towards creating a strong, prosperous and inclusive India of Dr. Ambedkar’s dreams”.

Prime Minister Modi will visit Nagpur, where he will a sacred place, Deekshabhoomi, closely associated with the Dalit icon, to pay homage. PM Modi will also inaugurate a number of development projects in Nagpur. He tweeted, “In Nagpur, I will pray at Deekshabhoomi, a holy spot that is very closely associated with Dr. Ambedkar. #AmbedkarJayanti”. In another tweet he said, “A series of development projects are going to be inaugurated in Nagpur tomorrow, which will have a positive impact on people's lives.” PM Modi’s visit to Nagpur includes bhoomipujan of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, AIIMS Nagpur, IIM-Nagpur and IIIT-Nagpur. He will also launch BHIM cashback and referral schemes of BHIM Aadhaar schemes. PM Modi will visit Koradi thermal power station, where he will dedicate Mahagenco's 1,980-MW Koradi Thermal Power project to the nation in the presence of Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao. He is also going to inaugurate some government schemes and will release a stamp on Deekshabhoomi.

PM Modi will also address the public on the occasion. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar, Ramdas Athawale and other leaders will be present on the occasion. BJP ministerial colleagues will also fan out across the country to join the celebrations of Ambedkar Jayanti.
