Genesis of the Programme

In today’s world, travel and tourism are integral to comprehensive learning. Exposure to different educational standards, curricula, and cultural environments serves as a significant source of inspiration and learning for students. The Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency, one of the most literate constituencies in India, encompasses the districts of Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, and parts of Kangra and Mandi. Despite this, Himachal Pradesh, being a special category state, often lacks exposure to the extensive knowledge base found in globalized metropolises. Sansad Bharat Darshan addresses this gap by taking students to various academic, corporate, cultural, and heritage sites, and facilitating meetings with dignitaries. This initiative not only aids in personality development and the improvement of soft skills but also emphasizes national integration as a core objective.

Key Highlights

During the first phase of Sansad Bharat Darshan, 80 meritorious & outstanding students (40 girls and 40 boys) from classes 10th & 12th were taken to metro cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Hyderabad wherein they went to places such as ISRO, NDA, Western Naval Command, session with renowned author Chetan Bhagat, Actor Suniel Shetty, Cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, etc. to ensure that a holistic exposure & learning, covering various aspects is provided to them.

In the year 2023, 21 meritorious & outstanding girls between the age group of 16-18 years were taken to New Delhi, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Lucknow, and Gurugram to explore various facets of the different areas and get an in-depth understanding of the rich history & culture.

The group visited significant places like BHU, the divine ghats of Varanasi, Ram Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath, IIM Lucknow, CDRI, etc. And met some of the most coveted dignitaries such as the Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha Sh. Om Birla ji, Hon’ble Vice President of India Sh. Jagdeep Dhankar ji, Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ji, President of Indian Olympic Association Smt. PT Usha ji, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister of Labour and Employment, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sh. Bhupender Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice Sh. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble National President of Bharatiya Janata Party Sh. J.P. Nadda along with Dr. Mallika Nadda, Chairperson of Special Olympics, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Sh. Yogi Adtiyanath ji, Padma Shri Indian Folk singer Smt. Malini Awasthi ji, Hon’ble Speaker of Vidhan Sabha Sh. Satish Mahana ji, Hon’ble Transport Minister of Uttar Pradesh Sh. Daya Shankar Singh ji.

Later the same year, 21 meritorious & outstanding boys between the age group of 18-21 years were taken to New Delhi, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, and Kevadia to explore and learn.

The group visited different institutions and places like the New Parliament Building, Doordarshan Bhavan, IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Gandhinagar, Amul Plant, Statue of Unity, Gandhi Ashram, ISRO Satellite Centre, Akshardham Temple, Rashtriya Raksha University, National Forensic Science University, Hindon Air Force Station, Gujarat Police Academy, etc.

They also got the opportunity to meet some of the most prominent leaders & personalities like Sh. Jagdeep Dhankar ji, Hon’ble Vice President of India, Sh. Rajnath Singh ji, Hon’ble Defence Minister, Sh. Bhupendrabhai Patel ji, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Sh. Harsh Sanghavi ji, Hon’ble Home Minister of Gujarat, Sh. Nitin Gadkari ji, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Smt. Smriti Irani ji, Minister of Women and Child Development.

Sansad Bharat Darshan is meticulously designed to provide students from diverse backgrounds with practical experience and exposure. It offers ample opportunities to visit and engage with various academic, research, and corporate centers, expanding their knowledge and understanding of different fields.
